Mock Interveiw

I thought my mock interview went very well. I actually was not worried about my interview at all because fortunately, I have grown up my whole childhood life around talking with other people. As a kid I would talk to many people that were generations older than me and therefore I am very comfortable with talking to older people. If I was to be interviewed by someone who was older than me but in my same generation, the interview would be more difficult. For some reason, I get extremely nervous around my peers. I am guessing there will be a 70% chance that the real interviewer for my first job will be someone in a different generation than myself.

Two thing that helped me have a successful interview was having my materials ready early and being on time for the interview. Both of theses helped boost my confidence prior to meeting with Angie. I felt smart, organized and ready to go. By setting myself up for a successful interview on the front end, allowed me to stay calm and answer any questions with careful thought.

Overall I am very impressed with my interview. As easy as I thought the interview was , I still need more practice. I need to be prepared to answer any questions that one might ask. More practice can never be a bad thing.

My Favorite City

This week, I have the opportunity to write about anything I want. I have decided to write about where I am from. I am from Nashville, Tennessee. Nashville is a great place to live. It is located in the central basin which means that the city is surrounded with hills and mountains. Nashville is the capital of Tennessee. It filled with history and country music. The Country Music Hall of Frame, Predators Hockey Arena, Titans Station, Ryman Auditorium, and most country bars are all within walking distance of each other all downtown by the river. Downtown Nashville even still has some old cobblestone streets and restored civil war forts. Minutes from downtown Nashville is the suburbs. The traffic is not bad and easy to understand for visitors. Don’t get me wrong, Nashville is not a small city. In fact it consists of more than 545,000 people just in one county! From where I live, in the suburbs, I am surrounded by four different malls and many different areas of town. It takes no more than fifteen to twenty minutes to get to each different part of town. Downtown, depending on the route you take, takes approximately twenty minutes. I consider this to be perfect timing especially since you go through a lot of traffic to get there. I am very proud to say that I am from Nashville. I am eager to finish college and go back to a city that I love. I can’t wait to experience Nashville when I am twenty- one and also to experience it as an older woman. I am thinking about renting a house near downtown with some friends and going to graduate school in Nashville. I love my city and I am eager to learn more about it. There is much I really don’t know.

Favorite Presentation

My favorite presentation was Stacey’s. She was very passionate about her presentation and it was very well thought out. I really liked all the facts she told the class about Boulder. Every thing she said held my attention and it made me want to go there. I have been to many cites in the area such a Aspen, Denver, Telluride, Cresten Butte, Gunnison, and Montrose, however, I have never been to Boulder. I really like Colorado and as you can tell, I have been to many other cities in the state. Stacey is right about how Clemson, South Carolina is a complete different culture. It fascinates me that Stacey chose to come to a small town across the United States for college. I can image that South Carolina was a complete culture shock and I admire her for staying with it. She seems like a well traveled person and I admire that also. Overall, Stacey’s presentation was very well done. A+ to Stacey.

What does Clemson mean to you?

The past few weeks I have been thinking about what Clemson means to me. I take a lot of pride in my school and am very proud to say that I am a Clemson tiger. When I accepted to attend Clemson, I not only committed to a school, but also to a family. Being a part of the Clemson Tradition and the Clemson Family is further more than I expected out of a college experience.

Clemson excels in academics, athletics, and the mission of being one student body. I am very proud to tell anyone that I am a Clemson student. I obviously love my school and want the best for it. I believe in giving back to what has been given to me. I encourage every Clemson student and alumni to be a member of IPTAY, the Clemson Fund, and the Student Alumni Association. If someone can not be a member of all three, at least start out with one. All three of theses help make ones’ time a Clemson memorable. I am a personally a member of all three. I want to give back to the academics of Clemson (Clemson Fund), the athletics of Clemson ( IPTAY) and the support network that holds the university together (SAA). Many fans that did not even attend Clemson give money to IPTAY because IPTAY is what funds scholarships money for student - athletes together and allow sporting events to even occur. It’s also the fans that help make Clemson the family it is today.

When I think of the word ‘CLEMSON’, I think of many things. I think of Solid Orange, tiger Pride, the tiger, Howard’s Rock, the hill, football games, purple, an academic of excellence, and the library bridge. Theses are some of many things that come to mind.

What do you think of when you see the word CLEMSON? What does Clemson mean to you?
